In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • A spot at the old town's doorstep — The hotel sits at the entrance to Cordoba's historic quarter, close to the train station and within walking distance of the Mosque-Cathedral and other main sights.
  • Quiet in a busy city — Sound insulation is called out as excellent, making it unusually quiet for a property so central.
  • Staff who go the extra step — Reception is described as friendly, kind, and always ready to help — from borrowing a hairdryer to serving breakfast after hours.
  • A proper Andalusian atmosphere — The two-storey mansion with its orange-tree courtyard gives the place real local character, and the patio is a pleasant spot for breakfast.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Small rooms with big beds — Some guests note the rooms feel tight once the large beds are in place, though everything needed is still provided.
  • Heating relies on air conditioning — In winter, the air-conditioning units provide heat, which works quickly and quietly, but the bathroom may stay cooler — something to pack for.
  • A walk to the Mosque — The hotel is not right next to the Mosque-Cathedral; expect a decent walk, which is manageable for most but not ideal if you prefer to stay right at the monument.
  • Smoke-free throughout — The property is completely non-smoking, so there's no designated outdoor smoking area beyond the patio.

“The hotel has a lovely charm and I really enjoyed my stay. The location was especially good — close to the historic centre and the old part of Cordoba. It was practical and reasonably quiet. My room had a private bathroom, a safe, central heating, and an electronic key card.”

8.4Verified guest

“My room was very spacious and came with a fridge and comfortable beds. Breakfast included sweets — a really pleasant experience.”

“A very nice and quiet hotel with everything I needed. They even have a hairdryer you can borrow from reception. The patio is lovely and you can have breakfast outside, though it rained during my visit so I ate in the small interior breakfast room overlooking the patio. The breakfast was rich and plentiful. The staff were very kind — I was even served breakfast after the official time, which I appreciated. If I come back to Cordoba, I'd stay here again. I recommend visiting the Cristo de los Faroles at night — it's right next door and beautiful and magical. Thank you!”

8.4Verified guest

“The location is very convenient, right in the heart of the historic downtown area.”

“Breakfast was standard — not bad, and acceptable. The location is good, in the centre. The staff were correct and friendly.”

“The hotel is very nice and conveniently located at the entrance to Cordoba's old town. The building is picturesque — a classic Andalusian two-storey mansion with an inner patio where oranges and lemons grow, which justifies the name. Though in Cordoba they grow everywhere. The sound insulation is excellent, which sets it apart from many other hotels. Breakfast is delicious and nourishing. Travellers visiting Spain in winter should be prepared for a lack of central heating — the hotel uses air conditioning for heating, which is modern and works quickly and quietly, but the bathroom stays cooler. My wife and I brought warm pyjamas from Russia, so this wasn't a problem for us. This is more of an FYI than a complaint.”

04 — Location

Getting around Cordoba

The property sits in Cordoba.

Old Town Cordoba: The hotel stands at the entrance to the historic quarter, so most of the city's monuments and atmospheric lanes are directly on your doorstep.

Cristo de los Faroles: Just next door, this illuminated cross in the Plaza de los Capuchinos is a local favourite, especially at night when it looks magical.

The Mosque-Cathedral: A pleasant walk from the hotel leads to Cordoba's most famous landmark, a unique fusion of mosque and cathedral architecture.

The bottom line

Hotel Boutique Puerta Del Rincon is a solid pick for travellers who want to be at the edge of Cordoba's old town, with a friendly welcome and a genuine Andalusian feel. It's not lavish, and you may find the rooms snug or the heating a little unconventional in winter, but the location, quiet, and staff consistently win guests over.

8.4A charming, well-positioned base for exploring Cordoba's highlights.
